Michel Janet (Shelly) Denes, PT, C/NDT, maintains a current clinical practice at the Rehab Institute of Michigan, where she works with patients with multiple diagnoses including hemiplegia, neuromuscular disease, neuromuscular disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injuries. She has worked actively in various aspects of rehab for more than 25 years. She has a special interest and experience in advanced technology and strategies for complex clinical cases. She has been involved extensively with many advanced technologies including FES cycling, FES Neuroprosthetic devices, and innovative lower extremity orthotics to get patients moving again. Shelly has also been involved with the exoskeleton robotics for gait and gait training with patients with neurological injuries and other disabilities. Past professional experiences include insights gained while working in the inpatient, rehab, outpatient and the SCI recovery settings.

Shelly graduated from The University of Michigan in Physical Therapy and has a certification in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) in Adult Hemiplegia, completed at the Rehab Institute of Chicago. She has shared her insights with practicing professionals at seminars held across the country, at the annual Michigan Physical Therapy Association meetings and through adjunct university work. Additionally, Shelly's expertise has been presented through expert witness work, both nationally and locally.
