Description

Program Description:

Having a solid foundation in neurological assessment skills is imperative for nurses that care for patients along the spectrum of health and illness. The brain and central nervous system are sensitive indicators of homeostatic disruption, and the nurse must be able to detect subtle changes in the neurological exam to be on the alert for the early development of problems, complications and deterioration of patients.

This 60-minute webinar will provide the learner with a framework for performing an appropriate and thorough neurological exam. Special attention will be focused on the recognition of delirium, a poorly recognized but reversible neurologic condition. Nurses working on the front lines of patient care can have a tremendous impact in recognizing this emergency, initiating treatment protocols and saving lives.
